In 2020, Audi Sport continued to rely on its proven factory line-up with its six drivers and three Audi Sport Teams: Abt Sportsline, Phoenix and Rosberg. The driver squad, which has been unchanged since 2018, included DTM champions Mike Rockenfeller (2013) and René Rast (2017, 2019 and 2020), together with Robin Frijns, Nico Müller, Loïc Duval and Jamie Green. Together, they paved the way for Audi to win all three championship titles for the second year in a row. A triumphed farewell for Audi as a factory entrant in the DTM.
The Belgian team WRT Team Audi Sport took part in the 2020 season with three Audi RS 5 DTM cars. With Harrison Newey from England, the Swiss Fabio Scherer and Ferdinand Habsburg from Austria, WRT once again gave young drivers a chance in the DTM.
